Ixtapa Pacific Mexico

This is our 9th visit to Club Med Ixtapa. It was a great vacation with a great G.O. team. Food, activities, and shows were all well executed. Thanks to Valdemar and Manuel in Miramar for great drinks. Julio for fun conversation. Chucho, Ceci, Edgar, Holly, and Pablo for helping us all fly! The water sports team were great in providing sailing lessons - Dorian, Marco, and Paulo. Samantha made us work hard in boot camp! Issam provided great conversation.

Had the most lovely surprise for my dad’s birthday. Izzy was fantastic at the archery range we went every single day (I shot the tennis ball off). Everyone on property was lovely. Shows were so much fun as well! Bar staff were a blast and the food on property was alright. Some meals far better than others but never left the main restaurant hungry. Make a reservation at the beach restaurant for a fantastic meal. Don’t forget to do those aqua aerobics (shout out to Gerardo). All and all smiles about the property weather was great when we went and the rooms were very comfortable.

This was our 4th time returning to Club Med Ixtapa and it was our best trip yet. The rooms and some areas of the resort are starting to show their age, but we will keep coming back because of the large beach area, the pools, the activities, family style rooms, the small size and familiarity of the resort, and, most importantly, the staff. We also always try to visit during a slow week, so things like getting a chair at the pool or a table at the bar for sunset are never an issue.
We were initially disappointed to hear there was a new circus team in place as we had gotten to know the previous group over the years, but we were immediately blown away by Chucho, Pablo, Holly, Edgar, and Ceci. They were patient, attentive, encouraging, and by the end of the week both of our kids were invited to show off their new skills in the trapeze show and they had an absolute blast all week.
Both of our kids also participated in Teen's Club with Thais who was amazing at keeping them engaged and wanting to participate in activities like archery and kayak, which they have tried in previous years but were never as excited about. The kids also connected with Luna who was really great and patient with them. We also enjoyed sharing some meals with Paulo and Dylan this year.
The main evening shows are always a good time, but this year we also enjoyed the dance competitions, limbo contest, kids' talent show, and karaoke. It seemed like there was always something going on to keep the kids occupied, which in turn meant that my partner and I could participate in the activities that we wanted to try like beach volleyball and aquagym with Bruno, pickleball with Dylan, and we even tried the trapeze.
This was also the first year that we were able to try the Miramar Restaurant (reservations required) and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the service. The food at the buffet is always good and is particularly good considering it is a buffet, but it was nice to try something different. It was also nice to have a dedicated server at Miramar, as often the service at the buffet is a bit lacking. It can be difficult to get cutlery and something to drink (e.g. coffee, water, wine, etc.). This is something we have gotten used to over the years but is certainly something that could be improved. The service at the main bar was better this year than it has been in the past - Phillipe was great!
Overall, it was an excellent trip, and we look forward to returning again soon!

This is a great place for a multi-generational family vacation. Something for everybody but the opportunity to have time together. Great to have the time together in such a beautiful location!

We just returned from a one week all-inclusive vacation at this resort. This was our second visit to this resort within the last two years. Our children age 10 and 12 had an amazing time. They were kept busy every day by the wonderful GO staff, especially the lovely Thais. We were traveling with several other families, and our children loved the freedom that the resort offers. My wife and I were free to enjoy sitting by the side of the pool or participating in various other sporting activities, including Pickleball, tennis, sailing, and archery. Thank you very much to Dillon who was an excellent tennis and Pickleball coach.

We found the food to be good and there was plenty of offerings. I loved the numerous Mexican offerings and the kids loved the ice cream. The only thing that we were left looking for was a bit more attentiveness from wait staff to offer drinks and refills during the meal. special thanks to Laura who was our waitress most mornings and was very friendly and efficient.

The entire GO staff is very high energy and friendly. They did a great job of getting our kids involved in all the activities, including the nightly dance party! Thank you all so much for the care you showed our children! You are all such wonderful young people!

The location of the resort is great. The beach, the surf and the sunsets are amazing!

We played golf at Palma Real. It was a good course but a bit expensive for what is offered. We also went to ixtapa island for the snorkeling excursion. It was great fun for the kids and there was plenty of fish but the water was a bit murky.

This resort is not going to win you over with luxury, high end service or modern amenities. In fact, it’s really starting to show its age in some ways and the waitstaff service was a bit lacking. But what continues to bring us back is the quality of the GO team staff and the ability for us parents to know that our children are safe, happy, and having FUN - while us parents are enjoy some quiet time, sunsets, sports, and lounging by the pool!
